Love That Book
Hosted by storyteller and New York Times Best-Selling children’s book author, Carmen Agra Deedy, Love That Book is GCPS TV’s four-time Emmy award winning children’s book program. From the up-beat original song and introduction for Love That Book, to the lively interaction between Carmen and guests, this show has wide appeal for children and the child within us all. “Think of it as a Reading Rainbow for the 21st Century student!”
Carmen Finds Her Beat Selected Episode
Rain sticks, bongos, and a didgeridoo. . . just a few of the instruments Carmen attempts to play at Earthshaking Music, a delightful music store in midtown Atlanta. The friendly shopkeepers give demonstrations and a bit of history on some of their lesser-known instruments. As usual, Carmen keeps us amused as she makes her way through the shop, and students from Gwin Oaks ES share book recommendations. Books featured in the program are "Zin! Zin! Zin! a Violin," by Lloyd Moss, "Out of My Mind," by Sharon Draper, and "The Little Engine That Could," by Watty Piper.
