School Nutrition Program Vendor Information

Welcome to the Gwinnett County School Nutrition Program (GCSNP), a department within the Division of Business and Finance for Gwinnett County Public Schools. The School Nutrition Program is the district’s central office where the planning of menus and the purchasing of supplies, materials, equipment, and contracts for services within the program take place. These goods and services are procured within the statutes of the Federal Government, the State of Georgia, the Gwinnett County Public Schools Purchasing policies and procedures, and certain guidelines and procedures as established by the Gwinnett County School Nutrition Program. All bids and proposals are processed through the Gwinnett County Public Schools Purchasing Office.

Our program contributes to a successful academic experience and encourages a lifetime of healthy eating by providing our students with meals that are nutritious, appealing, and served by caring professionals in a pleasant environment. We also make it our priority to obtain quality goods and services at the lowest reasonable cost, while operating at the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism. In addition, GCSNP strives to treat suppliers and manufactures fairly and equitably and to maximize competition whenever possible. We believe that our manufactures are our partners and are our greatest resource for keeping us informed of current products, services, updates, and new information.

Conducting business with school districts can be a very rewarding experience when you have a clear understanding of how they operate. It can also be significantly different from operations associated with the private sector. There are more complexities involved in our process.

Please see the attached manual as it provides suppliers of goods and/or services with the tools to effectively conduct business with GCSNP. Included you will find information on our expectations, what you can expect from us, and the basic “How To’s” involved in the process.
