Summer Learning Resources
Given ongoing concerns about COVID-19, GCPS will support its students in kindergarten through 8th grade participating in the school district’s Summer School program with the following selection of Priority Resources and Additional Resources. The resources (downloadable files and website links) are available over the summer to continue supporting learning for all K-12 students. These resources include a variety of engaging technology tools and hands-on activities for your child to complete alone or with your assistance. Parents who have questions or issues accessing these online resources can send an email to: ElementarySchoolSummerSchool@gcpsk12.org or MiddleSchoolSummerSchool@gcpsk12.org.

Live tutoring support is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, students can receive “drop-off support,” 24-7, by uploading a document for tutor feedback that will be reviewed and returned at a later time. |

Learning in 5th grade focused on developing number sense, understanding and using numbers through mathematical operations, fractions, geometry, measurement and data, and algebraic thinking. The intention of these summer activities is to promote engaging and fun learning experiences for students and their families, while maintaining math knowledge and skills throughout the summer. |

In second grade, students extended their place understanding through the hundreds place and applied this understanding to add and subtract within 1000. They learned measurement skills including measuring length and telling time to the nearest 5 minutes. They deepened their understanding of plane and solid figures, and started developing multiplication concepts. |

In partnership with the Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL), GCPS provides Tutor.com as an online tutoring resource for students. Live tutoring support is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, students can receive “drop-off support,” 24-7, by uploading a document for tutor feedback that will be reviewed and returned at a later time. |
