North Gwinnett High School hosts American Education Breakfast

Per tradition, the North Gwinnett High School in partnership with the North Gwinnett Foundation hosts the American Education Breakfast in November of every year. It is part of this tradition that the community celebrates its strong fine arts programs at the school during the event. The Visual Arts, Dance, Band, Orchestra, and Chorus all participate in celebration and demonstration. The theme for the Fine Arts productions this year was "A Million Dreams" from the movie The Greatest Showman as inspiration.

Congratulations to Nabila Khan, Paola Indraigo Rivero, Montserrat Cruz-Cipriano , Kelly Lin, and Phuong N. Nguyen from Duluth Middle School, These art students were selected to participate in the Pop-Up Art Show at High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The show runs from October 13-28 and culminates in a closing reception on October 28 from 1:00-3:00 PM.



 

Northbrook Student Places 3rd in Georgia School Bus Safety Poster Contest

2018 Georgia School Bus Safety Poster Contest which had the theme "My School Bus, The Safest Form of Student Transportation” has announced the winners.   Maryam Ahmed, a student at Northbrook Middle School won 3rd Place in the State for her submission. This is the second year in a row that Tricia Boston, Art Teacher at Northbrook has led her students towards a state level award in this contest.

Brookwood Visual Arts Recognized at Scholastic

The Brookwood High School Visual Arts Department is pleased to announce that 81 students received awards and recognition from work submitted to the national Scholastic Art & Writing competition. Their mission "...is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent and present their remarkable work to the world through the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Through the Awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. Students across America submitted nearly 350,000 original works this year in 29 different categories of art and writing." 
 
This year BHS had 14 Gold Key winners, 33 Silver Key Winners and 34 Honorable Mentions. The Gold Key winners will be moving on to the national level for a second round of judging from a panel of judges. All Gold Key work will be on display at SCAD Savannah at the May Poetter Gallery, February 26 - March 10, with the closing reception on March 10, 2-4pm. 

Brookwood HS Displays at Atlanta Dogwood Festival

The Brookwood HS Visual Arts Department is has eight students’ artwork selected for exhibition in the Atlanta High School Art Exhibition at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival. Works by Mei Deng, Jack Li, Jamie Le, Andra Tudor, Jacob Taylor, Anastasia Kreisel, Vanessa Saad, and Ian Harmon will represent the Brookwood Art Department at the Dogwood Festival from April 13-15 in Piedmont Park, with a closing reception on Sunday at 4pm.
