     Gwinnett’s best young artists will be spotlighted in March, which is known nationally as Youth Art Month, during Gwinnett County’s 2017 Tapestry Display. As citizens visit the school district’s Instructional Support Center (ISC) in Suwanee, they can roam the student art exhibit, seeing firsthand how the lessons from Gwinnett’s award-winning fine arts teachers come to life through student artwork. GCPS’ annual celebration of the arts takes place this month at the school system’s headquarters, which is located at 437 Old Peachtree Rd. NW, in Suwanee.

    During March, the ISC’s lobby area is transformed into an art museum filled with paintings, drawings, three-dimensional art, mixed media, pottery, jewelry, and two-dimensional art— all created by Gwinnett students. The student artwork will rotate by cluster during the exhibit. Each new rotation kicks off with an opening reception to honor student artists and their families. The exhibit dates are:

  • February 28 – March 6: Participating schools in the Central Gwinnett, Duluth, Grayson, Meadowcreek, Mountain View, and Shiloh clusters. Artwork from Phoenix High School, Oakland Meadow, Grayson Technical Education Program, and GIVE East also will be on display.
    Opening: Tuesday, February 28; 6–7:30 p.m.
    The building will be open for viewing on Saturday, March 4, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 5, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • March 9 – March 16: Participating schools in the Archer, Brookwood, Collins Hill, Dacula, Lanier, Mill Creek, and Peachtree Ridge clusters.
    Opening: Thursday, March 9; 6–7:30 p.m.
    The building will be open for viewing on Saturday, March 11, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 12, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • March 21 – March 27: Participating schools in the Berkmar, Discovery, Norcross, North Gwinnett, Parkview, and South Gwinnett clusters. Artwork from Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) also will be on display.
    Opening: Tuesday, March 21; 6–7:30 p.m.
    The building will be open for viewing on Saturday, March 25, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday March 26, from 1 p.m.to 6 p.m.
