On Saturday, March 3, 2018, Gwinnett County Public Schools will host its 12th annual Transition Fair for students with disabilities, their families, and educators. This event provides information about community services and resources for young people who have disabilities and may need assistance as they transition to adulthood. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with local agency representatives to discuss and research the various options available for school-aged students as well as transitional services to post-school activities and employment.
Featured agencies specialize in the areas of employment support, vocational training, day programs, community participation, recreation and leisure opportunities, funding, and community resources. Participants may attend up to three 45-minute breakout sessions to learn more about related topics. A brief orientation session will begin at 9 a.m. to provide guidance and suggestions to parents and students as they navigate through the event.
