Trip Elementary says Bienvenue Monsieur Courgeon!

French author to host workshop at Gwinnett’s Trip Elementary

September 30, 2019

On Friday, October 4, Trip Elementary School will host a special guest from the French Embassy. Rémi Courgeon, French author and illustrator, will lead a workshop for third, fourth, and fifth grade students enrolled in Trip Elementary’s Dual Language Immersion French program.

The workshop will focus on Courgeon’s children’s book Feather. Feather has been translated from French into English and tells the story of musical girl who is also tenacious, tough, and a real fighter. The book is about being a girl, taking charge, and realizing your dreams. Courgeon will read the story in French, show the illustrations inside the book to students, but will keep the front cover hidden. After listening to the story, the students will be given the opportunity to imagine and draw the front cover, following Courgeon’s tips for illustration. Courgeon’s visit is sponsored by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
