Three Gwinnett County Public Schools teachers have been recognized by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) for their positive impact on students’ lives and the local community.
The educators have been named AJC Celebrating Teachers Award winners. They are among a select group of 10 educators who will be honored Wednesday, October 25, at a celebratory evening event.
During a three-week nomination period in August and September, members of the community had the chance to nominate educators for their work during the 2016-17 school year. Submissions detailed why the nominee was qualified or deserving of the award. More than 375 public and private school teachers, serving kindergarten through 12th grade, were nominated for this award. The honorees, chosen by a panel of four academic leaders representing Georgia’s local universities and professional education standards, specialize in a variety of fields, including English literature, computer science, physical education, music, and more. The honorees will appear in a special commemorative edition of the AJC in the Sunday paper, set for October 29.
