BOE selects principals for three elementary schools and one high school

     At its May meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education named principals for three elementary schools and one high school. Dorothy Jarrett, principal of Summerour Middle, will transition to the principal position at South Gwinnett High School. Martina Luna-Liranzo, an assistant principal at Rock Springs Elementary School, will be the principal of Beaver Ridge Elementary School next year. Dr. Mandy T. Yearby, an assistant principal at Magill Elementary School, will be the next leader of Mulberry Elementary School. Laura Clark, an assistant principal at Parsons Elementary, has been tapped as the principal of that school for 2019-2020. All of these appointments are the result of current principals transitioning to new positions within the district and are effective July 1, 2019.

Mrs. Parker-Jarrett began her career in education in 1992 and worked at the college level from 1994 to 1996.

Mrs. Parker-Jarrett, a 2007 Graduate of the Quality-Plus Leader Academy, also holds certification in Leadership and Supervision from the University of Georgia. She assumes her new position at South Gwinnett as current principal Monique Lee joins the district’s Department of Student Discipline and Behavior Interventions.
