Gwinnett educators earn Walton EMC grants

Walton EMC awards more than $100K to Gwinnett schools

     Educators at two dozen Gwinnett County public schools were awarded grants totaling nearly $151,000. The Walton EMC EmPOWERment Grants focus on projects to strengthen the schools’ instructional programs and enhance student success. Representatives from the energy company visited the following schools to deliver the exciting news to teachers and students.

     This grant program is made possible by a Georgia law that allows EMCs to use unclaimed refunds for community development after all attempts to find the owners are exhausted. No money from electric bills are used to provide these grants.
