An elementary math and science teacher who has a classroom at the school he once attended, Dr. Doug Doblar of Head Elementary School has been named the 2018 Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year (TOTY), the 2018 Gwinnett County Elementary School Teacher of the Year, and is among the finalists for 2019 Georgia TOTY. The Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies (QPTS), originally developed by Gwinnett County Public Schools educators in 2006, identify the evidence-based pedagogical strategies supported by the district for use in every classroom.
