State Assessment Program
The purposes of our assessment program are to measure student achievement relative to the state and system mandated content standards, to identify students failing to achieve mastery of content, to provide teachers with diagnostic information, and to assist schools in identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to establish priorities in planning educational programs.
Georgia’s College and Career Ready Performance Index, CCRPI, is a new accountability system replacing No Child Left Behind, (NCLB) Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). CCRPI measures schools on a 100 point scale (with up to 10 additional points) reporting performance in a more comprehensive manner than the pass/fail system under AYP.
Performance Based Assessments
Performance based tasks move assessment from an event to a process. This type of assessment occurs over time, provides feedback and opportunities for revision, includes multiple content areas, and allows students to demonstrate creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills.
