GCPS students qualify for national leadership and skills competition

     Nearly 30 Gwinnett County Public Schools’ (GCPS) students qualified for the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference after placing either 1st or 2nd in the SkillsUSA State competition. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure that America has a skilled workforce. It is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers as well as high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations The 54th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC), will be held June 25-29 in Louisville, Ky. More than 16,000 people — including students, teachers and business partners — are expected to participate in the weeklong event.
