Central Gwinnett High School to celebrate six decades of service to the community

October 6, 2017

Central Gwinnett High School (CGHS) is celebrating its 60th Birthday. The celebration kicks off Friday, October 6, when the Black Knights varsity football team takes on the Berkmar High School Patriots during CGHS’ homecoming game. The fun begins at 4 p.m. with the CGHS Ring of Honor Induction Ceremony, followed by the Alumni Tailgate and Homecoming Parade.

The formal celebration takes place Sunday, October 8, at 2:45 p.m. inside the school’s cafeteria. The event will feature fine arts performances, tours of the school, guest speakers, and refreshments. CGHS principal Shane Orr, who is a CGHS alumni, is excited about the celebration saying, “All of us here at the school have worked really hard to make this anniversary celebration special. I am so proud to be principal of a school with such a rich history… a history that includes great leaders, teachers, support staff, and of course our students and a community that supports us.”
